Metry and Genie Kelly along with their two sons, Jaimie and Joel, started Driving Matters in 2007.  The Kelly family has over 30 years of combined driver education experience.

Driving Matters offers a variety of online, classroom, and behind the wheel courses to get you on your way to driving safely.

Genie Kelly
Genie Kelly is the owner and office manager for Driving Matters.  She has 40 years experience in customer service, sales and marketing.  She deals directly with our customers by answering the phones, making appointments and all other office duties.  She will wear whatever hat is necessary to get the job done.

She enjoys traveling, music and all types of dance.  She is often seen at the drag races to support her sons with the Kelly Bros Racing Team. She is always ready for a family get together as her family is her first priority.
Jaimie Kelly
Jaimie has 25 years of accident free driving and has 15 years of experience teaching driver education.  He owned and operated a driving school in Maine where he taught a 30 hour in classroom curriculum in addtion to 10 hours of behind the wheel instruction.  Jaimie has taught thousands of students how to drive from ages 15 to 81.  Jaimie is patient with new drivers while instructing them to be safe, defensive drivers.

His experience behind the wheel goes beyond safe driving, he has been a drag racer for more than 20 years & has won several Track Championships.

Jaimie lives in Ocala with his wife and children and enjoys going to the track with his family on the weekends.  Driving and the Kelly family goes hand-in-hand.
Joel Kelly

Joel’s professional goal is keeping the roads a safe place for everyone; drivers and passengers alike.  Joel loves teaching students behind the wheel and in the classroom.  Joel’s teaching philosophy begins and ends with patience.  He realizes that many students are nervous and he is adamant about staying calm and positive during instruction.  Joel believes the best part of his job is when he helps a struggling driver become a confident driver.  Over the years, he is proud of the number of students he has been able to help. Joel’s favorite part of his job is when he takes a student to the DMV and they walk out with their license.  Even doing his job as long as he has he still describes seeing that smile as “priceless”.

Joel shares his love of teaching with his wife a Marion County School teacher.  Together, with their children, they are proud to call Ocala home.  Joel loves his community and wants to make it a safe place for all.  On the weekends, you might find Joel at the race track.  He keeps going fast on the drag track; where it is safe and legal!
